Hip Hop's favorite arbiter of Barbershop K-Nowledge, Nas, goes in on the recent Jesse vs Obama's testicles incident.
David Banner, Young Jeezy, TI, and Lil' Wayne are our new leaders? Negro Please.
Question: Does Nas have a point, or did he undermine anything of value he said by referring to David Banner as a "leader"?

Hello there AverageBro! {waves}
I really had to stop the tape.
{shaking my head}
Lisa
LOL @ "Messy Jesse"
That was funny as hell!
No dis-respect to NAS. I really appreciate that he at-least try's to put out a good message with his music...to his targeted "Demographic". But really NAS---> all of the "Album-About-To-Drop-I need to get a soundbite"-->Activism?!?!?"
The "aggin" album mixtape is FIRE though!!!
@ anon
No doubt. The N-Word mixtape is fire. Some say even better than the leaked version of the Untitled album itself.
@ trumpet
No doubt. Nas makes me wistful for Michael Eric Dyson, which is no small feat.
Nas underminded himself when he and Kelis showed up on the red carpet at a major awards show wearing the latest fashions from the "ni**er" collection.
I think I just threw up a little bit in my mouth....
I'm at a loss of words on this one. But I will say this. Nas is right.
For too many young people (All around the world) Nas, Young Jeezy, David Banner, et al are leaders and their messages have much more influence that Messy Jesse, Farrakhan, Obama, Jesus, Alah, Momma, Daddy, or anyone else for that matter.
Oddly enough, I find Nas' platform of 'get yo paper' to be strangely republican...Maybe I should get a government contract to do nothing in Iraq or Dubai except pay brides and kickbacks...or maybe I should start creating beats in my basement and drop my first Album....Get My Paper Cuz Nas Told Me So...
I actually should be thanking Nas for affirming why I am not a rap fan...these guys are leaders and are responsible for how Black/Urban/Popular Culture has not been able to move forward away from the hustlers and pimps creed. And as leaders, I blame them as much as the bastards in our government who in the name of getting their paper promote war, poverty, ignorance, greed, etc....
Damn, this was quite a rant for someone who was at a loss for words!
Nas still got his message across. What was Jesse Jackson on Faux for? I'm still amazed that Jesse had the gall to say that he'd wanna castrate another Black man? That statement was loaded with historical, racial insensitivity.
I was annoyed by the fact that Nas mentioned those so-called leaders. Actually I was very annoyed that he mentioned David Banner. That is one ignant negro. I mean, Nas is the same dude that said on "Black Zombie" that our community doesn't need leaders cuz the White community doesn't have any.
If Nas were better spoken, he'd be better appreciated. It's a shame cuz he's quite the wordsmith. It's as though dude can't string a sentence along sans a beat.
Nas is still my dude though. The N***** Mixtape and the Untitled joint are on constant rotation.
Nas did have a point.....
The only problem was the rappers he mentioned as "new leaders". If I would recommend anyone as a leader it be immortal technique. This guy is the new school political rapper, makes every rapper that nas mention stupid
XXL (Magazine) (p.113) - "Immortal Technique offers an unapologetic look into America's corrupt political landscape at every turn....Pure, unadulterated rebel music."
