yeah, John King does nothing to move me. Him at the electoral map was about as interesting as it got. I couldn't imagine the depth of boredom it would be to watch him at an actual news desk with his own show for a whole hour--especially in that time slot.

Thanks, Marrio. I didn't even know I was in there today. I have them on my RSS feed, but if I'm not one of the first two quotes, I tend to miss this since I don't get the actual newspaper itself.

John King is a TOTAL snoozeasaurus. He's not even interesting to LOOK at; every time I see him I think he looks like what a cartoon version of a newscaster would be. I can take him in little doses--like off to the side playing humorlessly with The! Magic! Map! during the elections coverage, but a show? A whole show? Negative!

I haven't see Lou Dobbs on CNN since the couple of months after 9/11/01 when I watched news TV incessantly. After I got burned out, I turned it off and it has stayed that way. Every time I've tried to watch either CNN or the Big-3, the news anchors grate on my nerves like nails on a caulk board. I don't know why. I seem to recall that back then, Dobbs' show was on financial and business news.

But CNN in general is pretty boring.

Dobbs has my grudging respect for certain reasons. A lot of times he seems to be the only voice in the media calling attention to important issues that everyone else gives the short shrift---i.e., his preoccupation with the plight of the shrinking middle class. And I STILL can't BELIEVE that he was the ONLY person in the mainstream media (or, astonishingly, Congress) to actually COMPARE and CONTRAST different countries' healthcare systems! I mean....DUH! That would have been the first thing I would have done if I was a reporter or a legislator. But no. Only him. And perhaps if only by default, he's a winner on those grounds.

Unfortunately, his bizarre obsession with illegal immigrants (yes, it's a big problem, but he was willing to overlook a lot of blatantly racist undercurrents in the backlash he regularly reported on/consulted with) has opened the door to Crazyland, which he hasn't entered yet but he's been hanging around the entrance a little too often. I'm a bit unnerved by imagining what he'll say now that he's off Ted Turner's extended leash.

What to put in the 7:00 spot? Eh. Just move old Wolf back there. He had that spot just a couple of years ago.

I actually liked Lou on CNN. When Glenn went left CNN he was tolerable, he actually had some valid points. Since he's moved to FOX. he's out right ridiculous.
