Poll Position: Crazy Cynthia Could Be The First Female Prez.

After watching Sarah Palin's lousy performance thus far as John McCain's running mate, part of me is wondering why folks actually think she's got a chance in 2012. I suppose it's possible for her to grow more knowledgeable of, well, everything between now and then, but why would anyone think that her principle weaknesses (hokiness, lack of depth and general intelligence) are just going to magically disappear with time? That makes zero sense, and just seems to reinforce the fact that the GOP is likely screwed for the next decade.

Still, Palin has been touted as some trailblazer, which is just silly. She's not even running for President. She's not the first woman to be tabbed as VP nomination. Heck, she's not even the last woman standing. Crazy Cynthia McKinney and her running mate Rosa Clemente may have a snowball's chance, but just how much worse is that chance than Palin's?

Before the poll widget mysteriously blew up on Wednesday and I had to remove it prematurely, an overwhelming majority (95%) of you said Crazy Cynthia had a better shot at The Number One Spot than Palin, which says either of three things:

1) Ya'll are racist.
2) Crazy Cynthia ain't the only one who's crazy.
3) You realize a jokey-joke poll when you see it.

Either way, this doesn't bode well for Palin's future career prospects. At least she has her old job to fall back on.

In other poll news, Barack Obama predictably cleaned John McCain's clock in Tuesday's debate. Not that you didn't already know this.

Nothing to see here, keep on moving.

This Week's Poll is all about the McCain campaign's recent turn for the ugly.

That's hilarious. great topic. As for Sarah Palin, she's dumber than a box of rocks with a ruined political career. She'll never be seen the same even by her own party.

You forgot option #4:

4) We know it's better to choose the person whose ideology is in check (even if they might lend an ear to a few conspiracy theories), than it is to pick someone who with a wrong-headed ideology.

I love these polls AB, keep 'em coming!

If she was the only black in the running, hell, I'd vote for Cynthia McKinney in a heart beat just because the two of us are black.

You know, for the same reason why I'm voting for Obama.

Other people vote the issues, and the party's platform, but not us blacks.

We took one look at Obama, saw that he was black, and told all the others in the running, 'You better stand back'.

Damn, I'm not sure what that makes us? Ethnocentric? Hyper-racial? Blackenized?

We blacks ought to be ashamed!

No one in the other camp is voting for McCain just because he's white. That would never happen: white folks are just too racially neutral, too racially secure, too racially laid-back.

Do a little research on Palin's husband's ties to the AIP--Alaskan Indpendence Party. He was a card-carrying member from 1995-2002. It's an anti-American seccesionist militia group that has relationships with white supremist and neo-Confederate groups. She
spoke at two of their conventions and sent a video tape speech to the 2008 AIP convention before she was choosen as VP candidate.
A very detailed article is available at Salon.com.
The Palin's ties to "domestic terrorits" are way more damning than any imagined ties Obama has to John Ayers. I read the article and was extremely disturbed that our media has not blown this story out of the water!!!!!

Palin's comments/behaviors embarrass me as a woman.

I keep returning to an earlier thought I pondered- perhaps with the world as it is and the numerous pressing issues facing our nation, McCain doesn't want to be President. He's on the right road to losing with Palin; knowing full well that the President's job this time around will be very difficult. He's waiting for 2012.

none of McKinney's "theories" have been disproven.

It's good that there's a third option in November.

Besides Cynthia McKinney and McCain/Palin that is...

@ OMI

Come on man, her "5000 Bodies" theory was half baked and based on hearsay. It's pretty irresponsible to throw something like that out there without substantiation, especially when you're running for Prez.
