I have no words for this considering this is where this fool was while Sarkosy was brokering a cease fire betwen Georgia and Russia. (This after all the talking greasy about France...Freedom fries, anyone)
Maybe that's what Alain Bernard was talking about when he said the French would smash the US-LOL! I guess Bush thought Condi could diffuse the situation...she is a "Russia" expert after all.
After a brief episode of playing the dozens with Putin(the same guy who Bush looked in the eyes and "saw his soul") @ the opening ceremonies...
"Even as Putin rushed home Saturday to manage his military, the sports-loving Bush refused to let the fighting completely ruin his trip as the first sitting American president to attend an Olympics on foreign soil. He gave pep talks to U.S. athletes, posed for photos with them — which he later called the best part of the trip — and then was their biggest fan."
SMDH @ the loss of U.S. credibility throughout the world as a result of the incompetence of this administration.
Most intersting (and telling) is this little tidbit of information: Georgia sits on a strategic oil pipeline carrying Caspian crude to Western markets and bypassing Russia.
Check Rhandi Rhodes' take on the situation: http://www.therandirhodesshow.com/
This could get really ugly, folks.
AB, you should have included the photo of the frat boy holding the flag--backward.(ironically appropriate)
I don't even think I can begin to caption those pics. The first 2 looks like she's showing them something on her butt. The third looks like he's looking at her butt. The forth looks like he wants to wrap his arms around her and squeeze her butt. And the other 3 are just pictures lol.
I don't know, missjay...in that second from the bottom BabyBush is side-eying Pops like he just said something TOTALLY out of line, lol.
I would just like to say that is the most emotion I have seen on Laura Bush's face in years...
In the first two photos, what actually happened:
She asked Bush to slap her ass, "good effort, good hustle" sports-style... he slapped her low back instead.
@ebw:
The situation in Georgia is a hell of a lot more complicated than you apparently understand. It'd take a thousand words or so to explain it, but in brief:
US warned the Georgian President that a Russian shitstorm was coming, and not to give Putin any pretext whatsoever to attack. He didn't listen, for whatever reason... perhaps he couldn't listen. Georgia has wanted to join NATO but the French and Germans were lukewarm, precisely because of something like this... if we'd let Georgia join, we'd now be in a world war against a nuclear power. If the peace deal doesn't take, that might still happen, because we do want Georgia and Ukraine as part of the European family, not as part of the Russian confederacy... and their people want that as well.
So, after Bush and Putin crossed swords, he had to step back and let our ally, the Conservative Sarkozy, who has said many times how much he admires Bush and the USA, who trounced the leftwing Chirac on a strong antiterrorism and anti-immigration platform, and who has advocated pre-emptively nuking Iran if they look like they might get the A-bomb, to handle the Georgian situation. Bush proved that the US wasn't going to freak out and start a shooting war over Georgia by staying at the games (and not pissing off the Chinese, who are a much bigger concern going forward and who would have been seriously insulted had he left over this) and let Europe's most aggressive new leader take the reins. Bush did exactly the right thing in this situation.
And isn't this exactly what the Left wants us to do anyhow? Stop meddling in the affairs of other nations? Stay out of it when our national interest isn't at stake? Stop policing the world?
Holy hell people, let's try for a bit of consistency.

@spool, thanks for the explanation, but I didn't need it. I'm very well aware of what's going on.
@cjames...LOL! You win.
You can't possibly be aware of the situation, considering what you wrote. And quoting Rhandi Rhodes was hilarious... that'd be like me trying to pass Rush off as a source.
lol!
"damn, I forgot to bring one dollar bills..."
