"You know the damage one ignorant Negro can do? We were in France in the first war; we'd won decorations. But the white boys had told all them French gals that we had tails. Then they found this ignorant colored soldier, paid him to tie a tail to his ass and run around half-naked, making monkey sounds. Put him on the big round table in the Cafe Napoleon, put a reed in his hand, crown on his head, blanket on his shoulders, and made him eat *bananas* in front of all them Frenchies. Oh, how the white boys danced that night... passed out leaflets with that boy's picture on it. Called him Moonshine, King of the Monkeys. And when we slit his throat, you know that fool asked us what he had done wrong?"[1]
A couple of weeks ago, I rolled out a very controversial post called The Top 13 Debits To The Black Race. Some of ya'll jumped all up in me for including such questionable folks as Reverend Jeremiah Wright, Stephanie Tubbs Jones, and Amy Holmes.
In retrospect, I probably goofed on a few of the entries, but there was one notable absence. Actually, BET founder, Charlotte Bobcats owner, and general nuisance Bob Johnson was listed as a DisHonorable Mention: Third ballot Hall of Shamer.[2]
After this latest case of Extreme Hateration, I probably need to start working on that Greatest Debits Of All Time post.
The billionaire founder of Black Entertainment Television says Barack Obama would not be a leading presidential candidate if he were white and that the Illinois senator's campaign has "a hair-trigger on anything racial."I'm sure you guys don't have any respect for Bob Johnson, and I'm also pretty sure he is acutely aware of this and doesn't give a crap. Thus, he'll say any and everything to help his
The Charlotte Observer reported on its Web site Monday that Bob Johnson, one of Hillary Rodham Clinton's top black supporters, was commenting on remarks previously made by Geraldine Ferraro, another Clinton supporter.
Johnson is a longtime friend of both Hillary Clinton and former President Bill Clinton.
"What I believe Geraldine Ferraro meant is that if you take a freshman senator from Illinois called 'Jerry Smith' and he says I'm going to run for president, would he start off with 90 percent of the black vote?" Johnson said. "And the answer is, probably not."
"Geraldine Ferraro said it right," Johnson added. "The problem is, Geraldine Ferraro is white. This campaign has such a hair-trigger on anything racial it is almost impossible for anybody to say anything."
And that's the worst kind of Negro, one who doesn't care about anyone, and I do mean anyone, but himself.
Yep, I need to get started on that Greatest of All Time post.
Question: Is this some sorta Grand Hu$tle? What is Bob Johnson getting out of this whole thing? Does he have an ulterior motive, or does he simply lack any semblance of dignity and self-respect?
Bob Johnson: Obama wouldn't be presidential candidate if he were white [AP]

That quote would be from "A Soldier's Story" said by Sgt. Waters who was played by the great Adolph Caesar who also played Sgt. Waters in the stage play. Whew! I hope I covered all the bases!
i do think he has some ulterior motive; exactly what that is at this point -- who knows. he is positioning himself for something. running for a political office possibly? another major financial venture?
and concerning diginity and self-respect...from his vantage point he probably thinks he is great. clearly he doesn't see anything wrong with what he is doing/saying, so why should he feel any less of himself? a clown, if i have ever seen one.
Bob Johnson continues to say what he wants and I that's his right. Unfortunately there are many people out there who don't move/respond on their own accord. They need motivation by anyone else to make up their minds. He will affect some people...those too ignorant or unconcerned to act on their own.
The hope of a future in politics or chairman of some committee may be a catalyst for his behavior and statements...at least that's an easy conclusion. A more sinister reason is for the promise of money under some type of appropriations.
His motive is that he clearly doesn't care about his own people so he identifies with the other half. I wish he would go away...far...far away.. Sellout!
Aww Leonx, you beat me to it.
So Bob Johnson said: if you take a freshman senator from Illinois called 'Jerry Smith' and he says I'm going to run for president, would he start off with 90 percent of the black vote?" Johnson said.

And there you have it folks. Bob Johnson thinks black folk are ignorant. That's why he didn't give a damn about what your children were watching on BET.
That's why he took the news off of BET. And in retrospect, that also may be the reason Tavis had to go.
Talentedtenth, I believe you are right. I think Bob was/is trying to position himself to get a gob'ment job.
Bob Johnson is as ignorant as the network he helped peddle.
Bob Johnson makes himself appear not only ignorant, but self centered and callous as well.
Bob Johnson is a billion dollar COON. After years of selling the Black race out for money this sambo has the nerve to judge Obama? To hell with him and his money. He robbed Black people with 25 years of minstrel television. Sold that pathetic network to Whites, and just today I was in the library reading his book and he said in order to succeed it is important to partner with Whites!! 100 Black owned should not be a goal. This fool is trying to negotiate us back into slavery.
Lets be real.. Many voters are only voting for Hillary Clinton because she is a woman, and the others for McCain because he is white. So why is so many of OUR people mad because Obama is gaining support for being BLACK?
I think Bob Johnson has a right to say whatever he wants to. That's his right as an American. That said, I think he should have to do so with two half-naked, half-Black girls pop-lock-and-droppin' it in the background, because that's his brand and his legacy: the man who brought you old degrading black reruns & 24x7 "booty butt cheeks droppin" (to quote Aaron MacGruder). I'm mad they get to use the word "Black" in the name of that network...
The sad thing about it is that Obama didn't start with much of the black vote. Some started shifting to him after he won Iowa and proved he was a real contender, and there was a mass exodus from Hillary's campaign when she and Bill decided to squander the good will they had left in the community after South Carolina.
Of course, that doesn't fit the narrative.
