We knew The Clinton Machine™ would start digging deep into their trickbag with South Carolina looming and the race for The Number One Spot getting tighter by the day. But even I didn't figure they'd steep this low, this soon.
Then again, yeah, I sorta did. Sorry in advance for the lengthy quoting, but I didn't wanna cut any details from this one.
One of Hillary Rodham Clinton's most prominent black supporters said Sunday he was insulted by the characterization by rival Barack Obama's presidential campaign of her remarks about the civil rights movement.Note to Black America: Bob Johnson, doesn't give a sh*t about you (just turn to BET for evidence), and considering how they keep rolling out proxies to drudge up that old "drug dealer" angle, the Clintons don't either.
Bob Johnson, the nation's first black billionaire and founder of the BET cable television network, said Obama's campaign had acted dishonestly and had distorted Clinton's remarks about Martin Luther King Jr.
Johnson also seemed to hint at Obama's acknowledged youthful drug use, an issue that led another Clinton campaign official to resign. Johnson later denied that was the case.
Clinton was quoted just before the New Hampshire primary as saying King's dream of racial equality was realized only when President Lyndon B. Johnson signed the Civil Rights Act of 1964. Some black leaders have criticized that remark as suggesting Johnson deserved more credit than the slain civil rights leader for the passage and enactment of major civil rights legislation.
While introducing Clinton at Columbia College on Sunday, Johnson criticized Obama's camp.
"That kind of campaign behavior would not be reasonable with me for a guy who says 'I want to be a reasonable, likable, Sidney Poitier,'" said Johnson, owner of the NBA's Charlotte Bobcats. He commented after Clinton said in a televised interview Sunday that she hoped the campaign would not be about race.
Johnson also said Obama's own record should give voters pause.
"To me, as an African American, I am frankly insulted the Obama campaign would imply that we are so stupid that we would think Hillary and Bill Clinton, who have been deeply and emotionally involved in black issues — when Barack Obama was doing something in the neighborhood; I won't say what he was doing, but he said it in his book — when they have been involved," Johnson said.
Obama wrote about his teenage drug use — marijuana, alcohol and sometimes cocaine — in his memoir, "Dreams from My Father."
Johnson later said his comments referred to Obama's work as a community organizer in Chicago "and nothing else. Any other suggestion is simply irresponsible and incorrect," he said in a statement released by Clinton's campaign.
Anyone with half a brain knows Johnson has long been an F.O.B. (if you have to ask, you don't need to know) and thus his recruitment in this smear campaign is both deplorable and predictable. But it's not like you didn't already know this dude was clearly out for dolo. I won't even waste anymore keystrokes on him and his D-League basketball team. Thank God for TV One.
Considering how Reverend Al is still on the fence, yet chose to weigh in on that Tiger Woods debacle last week, I wonder what he'll have to say about this one. Then again, he's an F.O.B. himself, so don't expect jack.
The more I think about it, the angrier I get at this tactic. The double standard here is amazing. The Clintons keep lobbing subliminals at Obama, all with racial undertones. The she essentially does on Meet The Press this weekend and accuses Obama of reverse racism. If Obama had the nerve to say something similar about Clinton, the word "sexist" would stick beside his name in perpetuity, much like you can't find a paragraph without the terms "Louis Farrakhan" and "anti-semitic". Go head and Google that one. Tell me I ain't right.
By now, I'm convinced, any black person who would stand by and watch how The Clinton Machine™ smears a black man, yet still pull the level for Hillary is nothing short of a house nigga. I'm sorry for go hard [||] like that, but damn, how much clearer does it need to get for you people? These folks DO NOT LOVE YOU!!! They DO NOT RESPECT YOU!!! They DO know HOW TO PANDER TO NEGROES, because they know we DO NOT READ, and DO NOT THINK CRITICALLY!!! They want your vote, and know that enough of us will give it to them on the strength of the urban mythology of "The First Black President".
I hope the Negroes in South Cack aren't so starstruck by Slick Willy showing up at their church and talkin' greasy that they don't pay attention to the details behind the headline. Maybe hope ain't the right word. Pray.
Speaking of "hope", Obama needs to kill the Politricks of Hope™ bullsh*t and come out swingin'. You're in the major leagues now, patna. Swing! Hope is gonna have your beige ass back in Springfield if you don't Man Up and start fighting fire with fire instead of letting these bamas cold carry you erry day (sorry for the DC slang). Leave that Sold Negro routine to the Cablinasians. Clap back! Otherwise, we're lookin' at 8 years of "Mrs. Black Prez", and believe me, that ain't gon' be pretty.
My
Question: If you're a black Clinton supporter, does this race baiting by Hillary have you reconsidering your vote?
Here's the video of Rob Johnson talkin' extra greasy for context. What an Uncle Tom.

Quite honestly I was on the fence until the Clinton's showed there arse and decided to turn to racial undertones. I've also read his plan and agree with his proposals (thanks to you).
I'm officially off the fence and in Obama's camp.
AB, I'm still picking my face up off the floor. When I saw Bob Johnson making these comments on the news last night, I just could not believe it. I don't know why, I know not to expect much from ole greasy Bob...but crabs in a barrel from someone who has made his money from exploiting us and contributing to YT's stereotypical views of us? Apparently, he hasn't heard the saying about people living in glass houses...I'm so angry! I just want to shake black folk--and force them watch to watch School Daze! WAKE UP! It was just a lowdown, dirty, divisive thing to do. Honestly, I'm still in shock.Just stunned. Again, I know not to expect any more from Bob Johnson, but I still just cannot believe he opened his ignorant ass mouth and said some ish like that. However, I disagree with the approach you suggest for Barry. I think if he continues to take the high road--Bill, Hill, Bob, Andy, Jesse, and Al if he co-signs will be exposed as the "coons" they are.
Still shaking my head at Bob Johnson's *minstrel show*...
AB, keep fighting the good fight, and God bless you.
Bob Johnson is the last person to talk about anyone being dishonest. The Obama campaign is not the reason why some African Americans were offended by what Hillary Clinton said; they heard the speech and drew their own conclusions.
They didn't need Obama's campaign to express their objections. There are many black people from Democratic Congressman to avergae citizens expressing outrage over what Hillary said.
The comment Johnson made about Obama's drug use was low. Why didn't he bring up Bill Clinton being dishonest about having sexual relations with an intern? Or better yet, why didn't he mention how he fooled black people into thinking that BET would be cable network that black people could be proud of? This is a clear example of how some in the black community like to bring others down; the crab in the barrel mentality. I am frankly insulted that Bob Johnson was dishonest when he created Black Entertainment Television, or as I call it; Bootleg Entertainment Television.
Johnson claimed that BET would be a one stop shop for news, entertainment and politics. The network would address issues of the black community. Well we all found out that was a lie. BET became the safe haven for exploiting common negative stereotypes of black people. He made billions off of exploiting black people.
Clinton stuck her foot in her mouth, and no matter what she meant to say, she said it and people commented on it. Instead of taking responsibility for what she said or meant to say, she is too busy trying to blame the Obama campaign for adding fuel to the fire.
The bottom line is this: Support a candidate because you believe in their plans for the country; not because you are in some type of pay back mode. You see some black people, especially some in the older generation, feel that since the Clintons supported some issues that affected the black community that we owe them our lives. That we owe them favors for as long as we live; and I say that is complete BS. We paid the Clintons for what they did, by voting for Bill Clinton during his run for second term in office; we don't owe them a thing now. I applaud the Clintons for their service to this country, but that doesn't mean that black people have to sign over their first born just because the Clintons supported causes that affected African Americans.
My only problem with this discussion is that we're talking about Bob "Ole Sell Out Negro" Johnson. The man who almost single handedly assisted in the destruction of an entire generation or two, with what he called Black Media. The inventor of the evil B.E.T! But I will agree with Average Bro and say that Obama has to go hard or expect to go home. The hope thing is good but he has to use his powers for evil too sometimes.
I think Obama's campaign needs to stay in cruise control, for now. Don't clap back just yet. There are still many unexpected battles to come, that will be far greater, and they're going to need all their strength to overcome them.
As far as O.G. Bobby Johnson is concerned, he's simply repaying a debt that is owed. It's all business for the slimeball. Plus, I wouldn't doubt his (un-spoken) resentment of Obama for being the man he could never be. Bobby sold his soul to the devil, made billions doing it, and still ain't satisfied.
AB: I love the DMV lingo you sprinkled in. Real tight young!
Well Obama has demanded an appology for Bob Johnson's comments.

I just hope we are not falling for the Clinton's running the "short hustle" while about to get us with the "long hustle".
She has lost my vote.

I WRITE:
Hmm....you and other Obama supporters just dogged me out for feeling somewhat the same. I'm just glad that you finally wrote it and not me.
I think people owe me an apology because I would apologize if I attacked people the way people attacked me on this blog.
zackattack, who attacked you?
If this is what you meant when you called Obama lazy, then you should have said just that. But nobody that posts to this blog attacked you by any means.
Namaste.

I think the very thing that Billary wants is for RACE to a constant reminder to white folks.
She may lose half the black vote in South Carolina, and I say only half because the old-guard has not reliquished the slave belief that a black man cannot be president so they will allow Billary to come into their churches and pimp their members.
But if Billary is able to have white folks really think about the fact that this is really a BLACK MAN, and not the ambiguous, multi-racial consensus builder; the prototype that the maintstream media is promulgating, then she will get the majority of the white vote.
So with the majority of the white vote and some of the house negro vote she wins South Carolina, all by injecting RACE -- which still is one of the biggest issues of the 21st century.
zackattack, my friend, get over it. If you're posting to a blog, expect a finger in the eye every so often, without a need to have your feelings assuaged.
I like you.
A little disrespect from those who post here and other places goes with the territory.
It's not something I condone, but it's one of those realities we all have to deal with.
Fight back with a barrage of your own opinions, hopefully without rancor.
As was hinted at in prior comments, it's funny how he wasn't "insulted" as black man about the videos he allowed to be shown on his station.
I also remember he was thinking about starting up an airline years ago. Somebody saved him from throwing his money down the toilet as that's the worst business to be in if you think you are going to make money over the long-term.
I feel bad that Michael Jordan is so blackballed from ownership in the NBA that he works for him.
@ zackattack.
Go somewhere and get a hug from somebody, bruh. It really ain't that deep.
@ dark & stormy
Trying to keep it non-regional. The Mrs. says this looses too many folks. And BTW, I'm not really feelin' this whole "DMV" thing. It's jive corny.
@ tusk91
You need to explain that "long hustle"/"short hustle" thing to me. I ain't hip to the lingo.
@tryexcellence
Extremely well stated. I like your blog too. You're on my AverageSiblings list now.
@ cal
C'mon man, MJ RUINED the Wizards. He deserves to be blackballed and exiled with Bobby J and Co in the QC. BTW, how bout' my Zards' sweepin' the Celtics.
Big Three my a$$.
Oh, I got a hug. From yo mama! And it felt good!!!!! Naw, just kidding.
But don't ride Obama's jock either AverageBro. You are a too talented to be restrained to just one topic.
@ tusk91
You need to explain that "long hustle"/"short hustle" thing to me. I ain't hip to the lingo.
- The "short hustle" or "short con" is when some one is trying to con you out of something in the short term. Something that is a bit obvious to see.
- The "long hustle" or "long con" is what "they" do to you while you are being so smug after seeing through there 1st con.
Short Hustle - The Clinton's have us(black folks) pointing out how they are injecting race to gain them favor in this campaign.
Long Hustle - Due to the fact that we are pointing it out and the media is eating it all up. Obama goes from being the Universal candidate to being the candidate of and for Black people only.
it is refreshing to read that not all blacks agree with blacks and not all whites agree with whites, and not all blacks agree with whites and not all whites agree with blacks. This country has arrived. Congratulation. It is not as important whether a black president occupies the White House. Since he has to abide by the constitution and only can do for the black community as much as he can do for the white community. So what is important that he knows the laws just what can he do for all communities. But what is most important that blacks now in 2008 can participate in all aspects of public life, we have now black billionairs, black politicians, doctors, educators and law officers, radio hosts who can broadcast their opinions to millions of whites and blacks. And yes blacks can run for the highest office in the land, and sit on the highest court in the land the supreme court. Now a president cannot do more than someone on the supreme court. Let's not fool ourselves. So America has arrived. Anyone who still says there is no equal opportunity is just having a brain out. What is most important that all races work on the local level for their communities. Government can't fix everything whether you democrat or republican. Education is most important and keeping children of all races in school. Prevent teen age pregnancies and teach children that welfare checks go no where. A president can only do so much , whether he is Hussein Obama, or Hillary Clinton.
